100+ Character Traits of Christ

I heard about this list in a lecture by Stephen Pratt called “To Ourselves and Our Posterity.” Definitely worth reading and pondering over. Merry Christmas, and remember Wise Men still seek Him, and seek to be like Him.
And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen.1
Who He Is
Denver Snuffer opened a 2014 lecture on Christ with a description of Him that I have come back to many times:
If I can help you better envision our Lord, let me describe His characteristics. Our Lord was and is, affable, but He is not gregarious. He was approachable, and He is approachable and is not aloof. He is patient. He is willing to guide and He is willing to teach. He is intelligent but He [is] not overbearing. He is humble in His demeanor, even though His power is undeniable. He is therefore, both a Lamb and a Lion.
I want you to keep three truths about Him in your mind as we begin today. Those truths are:
-He is quick to forgive sin,
-He allows all to come unto Him,
-and He is no respecter of persons.2
Here is what each of those words means, with the scriptures that show Him that way.3
Affable. Easy of conversation; admitting others to free conversation without reserve; courteous; of easy manners; condescending. Of a countenance: inviting conversation, rendering a person accessible; mild; benign. (Webster 1828)
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 19:14 Have ye any that are sick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy. 3 Nephi 17:7
Not gregarious. Gregarious: having the habit of assembling or living in a flock or herd; not habitually solitary. He loved people, but He did not need the crowd. He often withdrew to be alone with His Father. (Webster 1828)
And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed. Mark 1:35 And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed. Luke 5:16
Approachable. That may be approached; accessible. (Webster 1828)
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Not aloof. Aloof: at a distance; not concerned in a design; declining to take any share. He came close enough to be touched. (Webster 1828)
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15 And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written by the prophets, that should come. 3 Nephi 11:15
Patient. Having the quality of enduring evils without murmuring or fretfulness; not easily provoked; calm under the sufferance of injuries or offenses; not revengeful. (Webster 1828)
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
Willing to guide. Guide: to lead or direct in a way; to conduct in a course or path, as a traveler who is not acquainted with the road. (Webster 1828)
I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye. Psalm 32:8 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. John 10:3-4
Willing to teach. Teach: to instruct; to inform; to communicate to another the knowledge of that of which he was before ignorant. (Webster 1828)
And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things. Mark 6:34
Intelligent. Endowed with the faculty of understanding or reason; knowing; understanding; well informed; skilled. (Webster 1828)4
And it came to pass, that after three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers. Luke 2:46-47 The glory of God is intelligence, or, in other words, light and truth. D&C 93:36
Not overbearing. Overbearing: haughty and dogmatical; disposed or tending to repress or subdue by insolence or effrontery. (Webster 1828)
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29 He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. Matthew 12:19-20
Humble. Lowly; modest; meek; submissive; opposed to proud, haughty, arrogant or assuming. (Webster 1828)
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:8 Know ye not that he was holy? But notwithstanding he being holy, he showeth unto the children of men that, according to the flesh he humbleth himself before the Father, and witnesseth unto the Father that he would be obedient unto him in keeping his commandments. 2 Nephi 31:7
Lamb and Lion. He is the Lamb of God, meek and offered for the sin of the world, and the Lion of the tribe of Judah, who prevails. Denver put it this way: those who come to Him in the day He offers redemption come to the Lamb; those who wait for His coming in judgment wait on the Lion.5
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. John 1:29 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5:5
Quick to forgive. Forgive: to pardon; to remit, as an offense or debt; to overlook an offense, and treat the offender as not guilty. (Webster 1828)
Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me. Mosiah 26:30
Allows all to come unto Him. He invites everyone and turns no one away.
For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile. 2 Nephi 26:33
No respecter of persons. Respecter of persons: a person who regards the external circumstances of others in his judgment, and suffers his opinion to be biased by them, to the prejudice of candor, justice and equity. (Webster 1828)
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: Acts 10:34 For I am no respecter of persons, and will that all men shall know that the day speedily cometh; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand, when peace shall be taken from the earth, and the devil shall have power over his own dominion. D&C 1:35
The Character of God
The Lectures on Faith teach that no one can exercise faith in God without a correct idea of His character and attributes. Lecture 3 gives six things “respecting the character of God,” and explains why each one matters to our faith:6
He was God before the world was created, and the same God after.
First, That he was God before the world was created, and the same God that he was, after it was created. Lectures on Faith 3:13 …seeing he is God over all, from everlasting to everlasting, the creator and upholder of all things, no such fear can exist in the minds of those who put their trust in him… Lectures on Faith 3:19
He is merciful, gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in goodness.
Secondly, That he is merciful, and gracious, slow to anger, abundant in goodness, and that he was so from everlasting, and will be to everlasting. Lectures on Faith 3:14 …that he is slow to anger, and long suffering, and of a forgiving disposition, and does forgive iniquity, transgression and sin. An idea of these facts does away doubt, and makes faith exceedingly strong. Lectures on Faith 3:20
He changes not.
Thirdly, That he changes not, neither is there variableness with him; but that he is the same from everlasting to everlasting, being the same yesterday to-day and forever; and that his course is one eternal round, without variation. Lectures on Faith 3:15 …with the idea that he changes not, faith lays hold upon the excellencies in his character with unshaken confidence… Lectures on Faith 3:21
He is a God of truth and cannot lie.
Fourthly, That he is a God of truth and cannot lie. Lectures on Faith 3:16 For without the idea that he was a God of truth and could not lie, the confidence necessary to be placed in his word in order to the exercise of faith in him, could not exist. Lectures on Faith 3:22
He is no respecter of persons.
Fifthly, That he is no respecter of persons; but in every nation he that fears God and works righteousness is accepted of him. Lectures on Faith 3:17 …they see that they have authority by faith to lay hold on eternal life the richest boon of heaven, because God is no respecter of persons, and that every man in every nation has an equal privilege. Lectures on Faith 3:23
He is love.
Sixthly, That he is love. Lectures on Faith 3:18 …but when the idea is planted in the mind that he is love, who cannot see the just ground that men of every nation, kindred and tongue, have to exercise faith in God so as to obtain eternal life? Lectures on Faith 3:24
Lecture 4 names His attributes, each with the scriptures that reveal it:7
Knowledge.
First, Knowledge. Acts 15:18: Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. Lectures on Faith 4:5
Faith, or power.
Secondly, Faith, or power. Hebrews 11:3: Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God. Lectures on Faith 4:6
Justice.
Thirdly, Justice. Psalms 89:14: Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne. Lectures on Faith 4:7
Judgment.
Fourthly, Judgment… Psalms 9:16: The Lord is known by the judgment which he executes. Lectures on Faith 4:8
Mercy.
Fifthly, Mercy… Exodus 34:6: And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious. Nehemiah 9:17: But thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful. Lectures on Faith 4:9
Truth.
And Sixthly, Truth… Exodus 34:6: Long suffering and abundant in goodness and truth. Lectures on Faith 4:10
Lecture 5 describes the Son:
The Son, who was in the bosom of the Father, a personage of tabernacle, made, or fashioned like unto man, or being in the form and likeness of man, or, rather, man was formed after his likeness, and in his image;—he is also the express image and likeness of the personage of the Father… and descended in suffering below that which man can suffer, or, in other words, suffered greater sufferings, and was exposed to more powerful contradictions than any man can be. But notwithstanding all this, he kept the law of God, and remained without sin: Showing thereby that it is in the power of man to keep the law and remain also without sin.8
And Lecture 7 says why His character matters to us. He is what we are meant to become:
…he proposed to make them like unto himself; and he was like the Father, the great prototype of all saved beings: And for any portion of the human family to be assimilated into their likeness is to be saved; and to be unlike them is to be destroyed: and on this hinge turns the door of salvation.9
The 2009 List
Love will enable us to appreciate our brothers and sisters in the Lord, and, of course, our family, and others around us. Love is taking the initiative to build up and meet the needs of others without expecting anything in return.
Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. John 13:1 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:3 Sixthly, That he is love. Lectures on Faith 3:18 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him. Moroni 7:47
Joy will allow us to enjoy His creation, others, and our circumstances with an expression of delight and real, authentic happiness from and with harmony with God and others.
A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. Proverbs 15:13 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. John 15:11 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. John 17:13 And they arose from the earth, and he said unto them: Blessed are ye because of your faith. And now behold, my joy is full. 3 Nephi 17:20 And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth! D&C 18:13
Peace is surrendering and yielding to the Lord’s control, for He is our ultimate peace! It is allowing tranquility to be our tone and to control our equanimity. This will be fueled by our harmonious relationship with God so we can hand over control of our heart, will, and mind to Him. Once we make real peace with God, we will be able to make and maintain peace with others.10
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Colossians 3:15 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Patience is showing tolerance and fortitude to others, and even accepting difficult situations from them and God without making demands and conditions.11
And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. Matthew 27:14 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Romans 12:12 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. James 1:3, 12 …that he is slow to anger, and long suffering, and of a forgiving disposition… Lectures on Faith 3:20 …if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men… Mosiah 4:6 …Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel. Alma 26:16
Kindness is practicing benevolence and a loving attitude towards others.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32
Goodness displays integrity, honesty, and compassion to others, and allows us to do the right thing.
And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Matthew 19:16 …abundant in goodness, and that he was so from everlasting, and will be to everlasting. Lectures on Faith 3:14
Faithfulness is the “gluing” fruit that will preserve our faith and the other characters of the Spirit as well as identify God’s Will so we can be dependable and trusting to God and others.
Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? Matthew 17:19 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 1 Corinthians 12:9 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 …with the idea that he changes not, faith lays hold upon the excellencies in his character with unshaken confidence… Lectures on Faith 3:21
Gentleness is the character that will show calmness, personal care, and tenderness in meeting the needs of others.
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 40:11 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Philippians 4:5 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 2 Timothy 2:24 But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: 1 Thessalonians 2:7
Self-Control will allow us to have discipline, and restraint with obedience to God and others.
Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22
Forgiving is the realization of how much we have been forgiven by Christ. This enables us to forgive the insignificant things that are done to us. It involves not being resentful to others, and ignoring the wrongs that we have received so we can heal relationships by expressing Christ’s love.12
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Luke 23:34 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:13 …and does forgive iniquity, transgression and sin. Lectures on Faith 3:20 Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more. D&C 58:42 Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me. Mosiah 26:30
Humility minimizes arrogance and removes pride. It is understanding our fallen nature and tendency to think we are better than we are, and our striving to lift up ourselves above others and God. It is admitting that others, and more importantly God is responsible for our achievements. Humbleness will enable us to be a teachable person who is willing to have the attitude of submission and servant-hood, one who confesses sin and remembers how Christ served us!13
For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Luke 22:27 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Philippians 2:8 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:3–5
Fairness sees a situation from the viewpoint of each person involved and not just ours. It seeks the best, just, equable solution, even if it hurts us.
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12
Courage realizes that God has given us the strength to face any situation, trial, or peril. It is the ability to react, knowing that God is in control, that He who is in me is greater than he who is against me.
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4
Friendship is the companionship and closeness we are to have with one another. It is the commitment to help form the character in others. This is not to be feared but embraced, even when it hurts!
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 …ye are they whom my Father hath given me; ye are my friends; D&C 84:63
Honesty & Truthfulness mean being straight and honest with others and doing what is right. This trait will allow us to earn trust by being accurate with facts and situations.
Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. 2 Corinthians 8:21 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Ephesians 4:25
Dependable is being constantly reliable and trustworthy. It will allow us to continue in our commitments even if it means personal sacrifice.
Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 1 Corinthians 4:2 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1:10
Gratitude is an attitude of being thankful, even when we do not see what we have. This is an aspect of worship, expressing to God and others how they have benefited our lives by showing their support and benevolence.
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? 1 Corinthians 4:7 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Responsibility is to know and do what God and others expect.
So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:12
Contentment is the attitude of accepting whatever God provides for us, and being happy with it. It does not seek what we do not need for gratification, and does not find happiness in the shallow things of life.
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? Romans 9:19–21 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity. … Philippians 4:10–13 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 1 Timothy 6:6–9
Generosity allows us to give to others because God has given abundantly to us. It is the wise use of stewardship and the attitude that all I have belongs to God and knowing we are the caretakers for His purpose.
Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee. Deuteronomy 16:17 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Matthew 10:8
Purity & Holiness is being set apart for God’s use, which is holiness in action. It does not allow us to be contaminated nor interfere with others in our growth and relationship in Christ.14
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: 1 Timothy 1:5 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men’s sins: keep thyself pure. 1 Timothy 5:22 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8 …if they are not holy, as he is holy, and perfect as he is perfect, they cannot be like him… Lectures on Faith 7:10
Confidence helps us rely on the Lord for all things in our life. It will enable us to push forward in the direction that we are called because He is governing. It makes us realize we are not responsible for the results–only the obedience.
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
Encouragement will lift, support, and help others up through difficult circumstances, all from God’s perspective.15
My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. Psalm 119:28 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. Psalm 143:3 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:17 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves. Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 1 Thessalonians 5:11–14
Availability is being willing to adjust our own schedule, agenda, and plans to fit the right desires of God and others. It makes personal priorities secondary to the needs of God and others. It is to reflect God’s priorities so we are always available to Him and others when we are serving.
And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him. Mark 1:17–18 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. Acts 16:10 …mine eyes are upon you. I am in your midst and ye cannot see me; D&C 38:7
Attentiveness will recognize the value of other people by giving them listening ears, respect, courtesy, and total concentration. This means paying attention to others, not just listening to our own needs and desires, and also giving genuine contemplation to God’s Word.
Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. Hebrews 2:1 …God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Alma 26:37
Wisdom truly desires the knowledge of God’s Word and the proper application to our life. This will enable us to make good judgments and decisions.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 1 Kings 3:9 O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. Psalm 119:97–98 First, Knowledge. Acts 15:18: Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. Lectures on Faith 4:5
Compassion will feel the pain and plight of others. It will enable us to convey a deep feeling of love and concern that moves us to meet their distresses, struggles, and needs.
The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow’s heart to sing for joy. Job 29:13 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Isaiah 40:11 And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean. Mark 1:41 And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that way. Luke 19:4 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 1 Peter 3:8 …he cast his eyes round about again on the multitude, and beheld they were in tears, and did look steadfastly upon him as if they would ask him to tarry a little longer with them. And he said unto them: Behold, my bowels are filled with compassion towards you. 3 Nephi 17:5–6
Enthusiasm will enable us to overcome disappointments and setbacks, so we can be positive, optimistic, and keep up our interest, attitude, and zeal, even when things are harsh.16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:11 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Colossians 3:23
Initiative will take the front position to recognize and do what needs to be done before being asked to do it.
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Proverbs 22:29 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction. Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. Philippians 4:13–15
Diligence allows us to operate with our best for His highest with excitement and passion in order to complete our work and call from the Lord.
He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. Proverbs 10:4 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:11 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Colossians 3:23
Thoughtfulness considers and gives attention and care to others and their feelings first.
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Philippians 2:4
Efficient is being well organized, competent, and resourceful so we can make the most of every situation, doing our best and seeking better ways.

And ye need not imagine in your hearts that the words which have been spoken are vain, for behold, the Lord will remember his covenant which he hath made unto his people of the house of Israel. 3 Nephi 29:3 And I will remember the covenant which I have made with my people; and I have covenanted with them that I would gather them together in mine own due time… 3 Nephi 20:29 Nevertheless, when that day cometh, saith the prophet, that they no more turn aside their hearts against the Holy One of Israel, then will he remember the covenants which he made to their fathers. 1 Nephi 19:15
Our Sure Foundation. He is a rock that cannot be moved, so those who build on Him cannot fall.
And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall. Helaman 5:12 Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail. D&C 6:34
Makes Weak Things Strong. He shows us our weaknesses so we will be humble, then makes those very weaknesses into strengths.
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. Ether 12:27
Lightens Our Burdens. He visits His people in their afflictions, eases their loads, and carries them.
And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me hereafter, and that ye may know of a surety that I, the Lord God, do visit my people in their afflictions. And now it came to pass that the burdens which were laid upon Alma and his brethren were made light; yea, the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord. Mosiah 24:14–15 In all their afflictions he was afflicted. And the angel of his presence saved them; and in his love, and in his pity, he redeemed them, and bore them, and carried them all the days of old; D&C 133:53
Healer. He invites the sick and afflicted to come to Him and heals every one, body and soul.
Have ye any that are sick among you? Bring them hither. Have ye any that are lame, or blind, or halt, or maimed, or leprous, or that are withered, or that are deaf, or that are afflicted in any manner? Bring them hither and I will heal them, for I have compassion upon you; my bowels are filled with mercy. 3 Nephi 17:7 …he did heal them every one as they were brought forth unto him. 3 Nephi 17:9 O all ye that are spared because ye were more righteous than they, will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you? 3 Nephi 9:13
Prayerful. He kneels and prays to the Father for the people, both those present and all who will later believe.
And when he had said these words, he himself also knelt upon the earth; and behold he prayed unto the Father, and the things which he prayed cannot be written, and the multitude did bear record who heard him. 3 Nephi 17:15 And no tongue can speak, neither can there be written by any man, neither can the hearts of men conceive so great and marvelous things as we both saw and heard Jesus speak; and no one can conceive of the joy which filled our souls at the time we heard him pray for us unto the Father. 3 Nephi 17:17 And now Father, I pray unto thee for them, and also for all those who shall believe on their words, that they may believe in me, that I may be in them as thou, Father, art in me, that we may be one. 3 Nephi 19:23
Ministers One by One. He takes time with each person individually, even in a crowd of thousands.
And it came to pass that the multitude went forth, and thrust their hands into his side, and did feel the prints of the nails in his hands and in his feet; and this they did do, going forth one by one until they had all gone forth, and did see with their eyes and did feel with their hands, and did know of a surety and did bear record, that it was he, of whom it was written by the prophets, that should come. 3 Nephi 11:15 …he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them. 3 Nephi 17:21
Warmth (His Smile). He smiles on His disciples and lets the light of His countenance shine on them.
…Jesus blessed them as they did pray unto him; and his countenance did smile upon them, and the light of his countenance did shine upon them… 3 Nephi 19:25 …and he did smile upon them again; and behold they were white, even as Jesus. 3 Nephi 19:30
Spiritual Father. Through His covenant He gives us new birth and makes us His sons and daughters.
And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters. Mosiah 5:7 …In me shall all mankind have life, and that eternally, even they who shall believe on my name; and they shall become my sons and my daughters. Ether 3:14
Conqueror of Death. He broke the bands of death, rose first, and overcame the world for us.
And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or have broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection. But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ. Mosiah 16:7–8 I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father. D&C 110:4 Fear not, little children, for you are mine, and I have overcome the world, and you are of them that my Father hath given me; D&C 50:41
Values Every Soul. He counts each soul as precious and rejoices over every person who repents.
Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God; For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him. And he hath risen again from the dead, that he might bring all men unto him, on conditions of repentance. And how great is his joy in the soul that repenteth! D&C 18:10–13
Knows All Things, Even Our Hearts. Nothing is hidden from Him, including our private thoughts and intentions.
O how great the holiness of our God! For he knoweth all things, and there is not anything save he knows it. 2 Nephi 9:20 The same which knoweth all things, for all things are present before mine eyes; D&C 38:2 Yea, I tell thee, that thou mayest know that there is none else save God that knowest thy thoughts and the intents of thy heart. D&C 6:16
Chastens Those He Loves. His correction is an act of love, given so we can be forgiven and delivered.
…whom I love I also chasten that their sins may be forgiven, for with the chastisement I prepare a way for their deliverance in all things out of temptation… D&C 95:1 …yea, the people of Nephi hath he loved, and also hath he chastened them; yea, in the days of their iniquities hath he chastened them because he loveth them. Helaman 15:3
Delights to Honor His Servants. He is glad to honor and reward those who serve Him faithfully to the end.
…I, the Lord, am merciful and gracious unto those who fear me, and delight to honor those who serve me in righteousness and in truth unto the end. D&C 76:5
Grew from Grace to Grace. He did not receive the fulness at first but grew step by step, showing the pattern for us.
And I, John, saw that he received not of the fulness at the first, but received grace for grace; And he received not of the fulness at first, but continued from grace to grace, until he received a fulness; D&C 93:12–13
Prepares a Way. He never asks anything of us without first preparing a way, including the way of escape from death and hell.
…I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. 1 Nephi 3:7 O how great the goodness of our God, who prepareth a way for our escape from the grasp of this awful monster; yea, that monster, death and hell, which I call the death of the body, and also the death of the spirit. 2 Nephi 9:10 …with the chastisement I prepare a way for their deliverance in all things out of temptation… D&C 95:1

Revised October 1, 2026. This was my first post, on Christmas 2009, when this blog was seekthisjesus.com. I restored it in 2026 and added Denver Snuffer’s description of the Lord, the character of God from the Lectures on Faith, more traits from the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants, and the scriptures’ own words beneath each trait. It was first titled “60 Character Traits of Christ.”
this is great im writing t5his down so i can go to school with a Jesus Christ set mind
it is actually 97 character traits. Thank you for this list, I copied them down by hand since my printer isn’t working (tiring). I am so glad that you have bible verses as a reference.
THANK GOD FOR THIS…….
I think this list is not right. We need to leave the law of the old testimate and stop living by rules. Now because of Jesus we don’t live by rules but live knowing that because he died we live; not because we follow the rules. Jesus Christ has saved us!
Jesus the is the Word, He is God and the spokesman of God. Jesus is ” good ” and He is a good ” giver ” to us humans. He created everything ( Jn 1:1–3), including law. He is organized which takes rules of order to operate. As it is written, He came to fulfill the law not one jot or tittle will not be missed (Mat 5:18 ). Symbols of the old testament are changed but it is the same rule which will always be as it was in the old testament and forever will be – Matthew 22:36–40 (NASB)-
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”
37 And He said to him, ” ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
38 “This is the great and foremost commandment.
39 “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ ( Jn 13:34 – 11th commandment)
40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Jesus is our example for you and for me of how to follow the ” law “.
You are absolutely right that JC died so that we may live. However, true freedom requires laws/rules. Imagine America without laws against murder and stealing. Rules help us to set goals to lead praiseworthy lives and avoid undesirable consequences. You should read “Satan’s War on Free Agency”. Great book!
i think as believers, especially if new believers, we should read through all the gospels and write down ourselves the characteristics of Christ. Basing them off of what he actually did and said while he was alive and teaching.
It is amazing colection &vry important for me, specialy the verses corsponds.
Just entered my 26th year in the Lord and what a long, arduous journey it has been! Just recently came the long-awaited, hungry entering into His rest phase of my
journey. And also reaching the apprehension and true
grasping of ‘not I, but Christ in me’. All this to say that
all these character traits of Jesus listed here absoulutely
cannot be achieved through our self efforts (the flesh).
Only by crucifying the flesh daily and by choosing to
walk in the Spirit can the life (traits) of Jesus be manifested in our daily lives. I had to learn this through
25 years of leaning on ‘things’ to comfort me and give me peace. Never happened. So take heed by brothers and
sisters. Grace and peace to all.
🙂
This is exceptional work, it’s really give you an insight of Christ without actually reading the bible. This kind of information should encourage everyone to crack open and read the bible, give it the opportunities to expand your world.
Just stopping by to say i love you guys with the same eternal love that jesus loves me with. We shouldnt argue, otherwise someone will feel rejected…
Thank you for this site, and all the scriptures and qualaites set out for the Savior Jesus Christ. I really appreciate it.
You’re right, we’ve been REDEEMED from the law, however, we have not been absolved from it. People usually say that when they dont want to follow the rules…interesting comment.
Faithful is missing. Jesus trusted God enough to allow the
Roman soldiers to take him captive, strip him naked, make fun of him, beat him, and crucify him for three hours and then he allowed death to come to himself.
I think about Why. Jesus must have such great faith in God. To be a being of heaven and be willing to leave your place and come down here and live on this cruel hard Earth. To then give so much, and fickle people that we are, humans, would reward such goodness with chanting for his death.
He still had faith in God and he still loved us, even in our worst moments.
Jesus is awesome. He had such faith in God he let it all happen. I want to try to have such faith, but would be afraid of the trial it takes to get there. Imagine being thrown in prison and beaten today, and then being given the opportunity to get out of it by recanting, and then trying to overcome that temptation, and then if you did, you are hung to die for three hours and ridiculed and maybe even beaten again. What person that you know, including yourself, would voluntarily give up everything, house, home, family, place in community, respect, job, job possibilities, and children to voluntarily go through what Jesus did?
Thought provoking-is it not?
It shows what fair day Christian’s we are to not want to risk the comforts of this life for the life Christ led. And I do count myself first in line to my own grief. I have heard jail and torture are terrible.
Jesus sure showed a lot of faith in God. Please add faith to your list.
GREAT TRUTH IN THE WORLD
To say there are no more laws is a deception. The New Testament says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). So what is sin? Sin is breaking God’s commandments. To say there is no more moral law against stealing, lying, or adultery is what Satan would love for you to believe.
The death of Jesus didn’t do away with God’s eternal law. It did away with the Mosiac laws of ceremony. God’s 10 commandments are the same law that rules heaven and all of His creation. You need to cover your sin in the blood of the Lamb by repenting and forsaking. God bless.
Jesus I love you. You are my healer my savior. I confide in you. Help me strengthen my faith.
Christ is perfect character in flesh – Son of God, perfect example for mankind – Son of man, He is the heart wish of God – Son of God, Perfect knowledge – Teacher, Perfect dedicator – Lord, Provider of peace – Comforter, perfect love – Emptied Himself to Flesh and touched every heart who has human thoughts.
Accepting Christ with whole heart, we are risking our worldly life but gain eternal life. We may loose everything in this world except perfect peace. Only Christ gifted peace in this world of turmoil.
EXCELLENT!! GOD BLESS YOU!
BLESSINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA: THE COUNTRY FROM WHERE THE LOVE OF CHRIST FLOWS OUT TO AFRICA
Ryt !!!!!!!!!!!
The more I know him the more I wanna be like him…lol
Truly God is Love,Peace,Kind,Loving,Caring,Forgiving,Graceful,Powerful,……………………………………………………………………………and more that he is infinite in every loving and……gd way..lol Christ…
The book of Ether is from the book of Mormon. Sneaky LDS.
I love this. I have read the Bible over and over again every single night and I just want to be more like Jesus and by reading His word, I can. But this flat out explains how to be more like Jesus and it depicts specific scriptures from the Bible where it demonstrates a certain trait that Jesus had and how we should examine ourselves to see if we are truly walking like Jesus and this is an awesome way to do that. So I am following each trait one-by-one each day.
Thank you for blessing me with those traits.Stay BLESSED!
This is awesome. I read the Bible, but along with the website I get a clearer understanding of how to be more Christ-like. Thank you and God Bless!
I am an atheist and I respect a lot of the wonderful characteristics Jesus reflected. Sadly, I hate what people have done over time to corrupt the message he intended to teach. Thank you for creating this lovely website and adding references at the end of each point.
Thank you for posting the character traits of Jesus. I find them very helpful. I believe that the individual traits listed cannot typify who Christ is, but it’s a good starting point.
I’m so happy to looke Jesus christs characteristics clearly b/c its source of. My life so may God bless youuuuuuu
im really blessed by this and my eyes has been opened to some truths in God’s Word…these are what are expected of believers.
These facts are what we should all be like… but Jesus is much more than what this says. He is ALL POWERFUL, ALL LOVABLE, MY GREAT REDEEMER, HE IS THE SON OF GOD. Whe should mention all of His characteristics, especially to those who are hungry to know who He is.
@joe, yes i do know that ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
but we cannot fulfill the law,the only person who can fulfill the law is JESUS CHRIST , and jesus being obedient to his father on the cross he fulfilled the law,
The rich man who showed up before jesus, who was self boasting about his deeds and actions, but the lord who looked at his heart and said one thing is short in your life
the law always condemns, but the grace always bless us
for we are righteous by faith through grace, not by law
THANKS FOR THE TIME AND EFFORT YOU GAVE TO COMPILE THIS INFORMATION. IT WILL HELP ME AND OTHERS MOVE DEEPER INTO THE AGAPE LOVE OF GOD AS WE PRAY FOR CHRIST TO BE FORMED IN US INCREASINGLY USING THESE CHARACTER TRAITS.
hey guys.. Plz get this thing ryt!! Dis is da list of charateristics which every Christian hv 2 possess, is nt a set or a list of laws which we xud obey, bt a friut of every person calling himself or herself a christian…
I think this information is great to have. In my opinion it can be a challenge finding peace in this life at times. Studying these traits of Christ and trying to implement them in ones daily life can truly bring a person more peace. Pondering these characteristics can also teaches a person to not have his heart set so much on things of this world, which is a challenge for most people. One of the greatest blessings in this life is to feel the love of Christ in my life. What better way is there to obtain that blessing than trying to be more like him each day. Although the list is not all comprehensive it is indeed a great resource and thank you for compiling it.
This is a 60 day challenge for me each day is New Fruit and a blessing for me.Each day I post a WORD/character trait to follow on my Facebook status and to GOD be the GLORY my friend’s are joining in promising to do the same.I THANK YOU for this .
Thanks for the character traits of Christ. I was also searching the net for the term values. Christian Values are kindness.
respect for all people, humility, honesty, generosity, self-control and moderation, forgiveness. Now I have definitions and scriptures.
Thank you for the information… Now I can have a copy and have all the time to ponder on all of this… God Bless!
I was reading 1John 2 verse 6 “whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” This led me to search for the above list. I believe the list provides us with a guide , there are many areas in our lives where we fall short and it is good to be made aware so that we could ask God to help us . It is only when we become aware of our short comings that we can ask God for forgiveness and help in the particular area. I appreciated the list and attached scripture support.
Thank you.
Thanks for this elaborate list of Godly Characteristics each one has been diligently researched and confirmed. Christ lived according to all of them and even more. God wants us to function in everyday life as much as he expects of us to follow His calling. We must be a practical witness of His Grace wherever we go. To be the salt of the earth, does not mean that you must drop everything and then go to a foreign country to make disciples without a special calling. Many people must bare witness in their own specific circumstances in everyday life – charity begins at home. God’s Spirit had been cast upon all flesh, therefore even a foreign religion without Christ will be exposed by His Spirit – you don’t have to do God’s work if you are not called to, rather become a living example of Christ’s character. It became popular character for Holy Wood stars to become salvation heroes in Africa and be of such noble standing and show such grace to the poor, but in their own lives they are very far removed from Christ’s character and they won’t reach out in their own country to the red man that has been perpetually oppressed. They will even adopt poor African kids, and neglect their own natural flesh and blood from failed marriages – this is what the Bible calls hipocracy.
WOW! This is God Sent. Thanks.
A Great Work.Pls,how Can I Get A Copy?.
I dont believe in god
For Bob: Perhaps you are just being polemic, but I will just offer the following and then fade away b/c I suspect it is not new to you. God believes in you. I hope you will seek Him. There is so much evidence. Just to name two of many that are well researched: Evidence That Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell (former atheist), The Language of God by Francis Collins (renown scientist and former head of genome project). But in the end, there must be faith and only you can decide. No evidence will convince someone who is not open to it. I am praying for you right now, b/c He has changed many lives (the best evidence of all). I hope you experience it too.
Well done.God bless you
Great job!
Thanks for all your hard work.
Awesome List, Thank You So Much!! God Bless You! 😉
Thank you for this list. I wrote some of these down so I can be more like Jesus with all these characteristics.
I love this list. I will try to be more like Jesus Christ with all these characteristics.
Great job I know you really put your heart and a lot of time in this.
one don’t belief in God must have scientific belief, my question where do the Space came(universe/ multivese) from, whos is the creator of space. ?
I love this list, but you don’t have to be a Christian or believe in God to develop all of these traits within yourself. These characteristics are universal principals that can be used to benefit everyone regardless of your religion, race, nationality, gender, or even if you are an alien from another planet. These are common sense behaviors that if applied would elevate all social problems and exploitation of individuals. Calling them religious or moral characteristics keeps them from being used in government and schools which believe separation of church and state, but that is a whole new topic.
I know that there are a lot of people who have a lot of these attributes BUT the bible says unless you are born again, you will not see the kingdom of God. We were born evil because of Adam’s sin and it is only through Christ and His shed blood that we are acceptable in the eyes of a Holy God. Our righteousness is as filthy as rags in the sight of a Holy God! You may run into a burning building or through yourself on a grenade to save others BUT unless you have His love it will profit you nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing.1 Corinthians 13:3
Thank You.. I really have a hard time seeing good and your article helps so much!
I am having a hard time finding the verse in Ether 12?? Esther has 10 chapters. Please help?
Jesus is great
For Brent, He was in the beginning with God, you developed nothing He had not already instilled in mankind! He refines His characteristics in you once you accept Him. You can do nothing without Him, not even breathe…God knew you before you were formed in your mothers womb!
A question for Bob…Then why are you even on this site? Who or what brought you to this site? When God created mankind everything of His Son was etched in His people; like a signature of the Potter in the clay! What keeps you from the Father is sin; but reconciliation to the Father is only through the acceptance of His Son ‘Yeshua’! So Bob; are you here because you have questions about the signature in your clay? = ) Do you have questions and you want others of Christ to encourage you to keep seeking? How about this…you already know the answer is (The Potter) Yeshua! God Bless you Bob for stopping in on your journey to the answer you received from His Holy Spirit whispered to you. Continue to seek Yeshua and there will be His clarity given to you.
That’s ok Bob, God doesn’t believe in atheists either. He also doesn’t need your opinion or the opinion of anyone else to exist. He simply is and He is a rewarder of they that diligently seek Him.
Cheers.
bob,you may not believe in god , but god believes in you, god also sent his son just for you.. I will pray for you so the lord will help your unbelieve , I will pray the lord will open your eyes, heart and mind so you will believe
bob, iam so sorry you don’t believe in god, I will pray for you.jesus loves you. jesus knew before you were even born.
This article is very helpful and is great. It is insightful and not insipid. God and Christ love everyone, which is why God gave His only begotten Son to this world. Christ loved the Jews and Judas Iscariot a lot, which is why He responded to them as He did. Honesty is loving.
God is wonderful and amazing.
Thank you for this list. I thought I would try to contribute to it with words that describe the Savior: genuine, mannerly, purposeful, resolved, focused, pure, prayerful, valiant, undaunted, steadfast, admonishing, earnest. But, finding the scripture is hard. What Christ-like qualities do you find in 1 Corinthians 14?
This article has been very helpful .It actually saved me from going through lots of trouble. That you Jesus for enlightment.
When u posses christlike attribute you are on your way to heaven.
Thank you. I am blown away with so many noticeable characteristics of Jesus found in our Bible. I helps anyone to become closer to our Jesus.
Ether is from the Book of Mormon.
Love it and i thank God for the obedience of who ever wrote this. Keep serving God enen through it all.
—God saves
thank you for listing…
This is a wonderful list. You have put much thought into it and given very goor references. It is not, of course, a complete list, but it is well done. I am currently working on a lesson for my Sr. Youth group on character. This list has given me alot to work with. I hope that God will continue to use this coupled with His Word to bring more into His Body. You have blessed me. I pray that I can pass that blessing along to others.
Thank you for this list! I really appreciate it!!
Thank you for this list. May God continue to bless you.
What is the book of ETHER?
Did you mean Esther?
Ok, thanks!
Great job done! I have been putting some of them into practice and after seeing this list, I will try all to be Christ Like. I pray to Jehovah for support in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
God will surely reward you, CS.

One question we will all answer one day, believers as well as unbelievable, When we go before Judgement seat,He will ask us one at a time,What did you do with the life,I gave you, Jesus is truly wonderful, he had to be born of a woman that man hand never touch, that what made her Holy and Jesus as well,It was Emaculate conception, the second time Divine purity took place ,is when he Rose from the dead, and He had a chance to say this to his Earthly,Touch me not,for I have not yet ascended to the Father,I don’t care who don’t Believe, Hallelujah, I believe, oh my God did he pay a price for our sin,and as of this very hour my life belong to him,Hallelujah
Beware! This is published by the LDS, the Mormon Church. It only pretends to be Christian–it is not.
i love reading your publication i always recieved inspiration each time am down reading
i want to be recieving messages from you sir,
awesome
Thanks Diana
Why does it say 60 if there are 96
Why not say 96 or were some addeed after
Are you mormons?
Thank you for your lovely opinion on Mormons, Diana, but I choose to believe otherwise.
dianna you say mormons are not christian? How can that statement be even possible when our church it the only one in the entire world that carries Jesu Christ name in its church and his very teachings. please before you make a false statement like that we invite you to see for yourself the very truth you seek. we believe in God the father his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost thank you
[The author] is not a Mormon. But if he was, being a believer in Christ and in His atonement, and being a Mormon, are not mutually exclusive. Sad that you are misinformed, Diana.
Mormons “add” to the authoritative list of books approved as scripture since 400 a.d. Revelation tells us anyone who adds or deletes is cursed and damned. Moons are mistaken about the Trinity. They do not see JESUS the father and the Spirit as being co equals
Mormons teach that the list tribes of Israel came to Latin America and traveled north to New England etc. what a fable and fantasy with no proof.
Be careful who you listen to.
Diana Although you may think that your opinion is correct I am sorry to inform you that the facts disprove your opinion. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a Christian church. If you would like me to teach you about my church I would love to teach you. Oh, or the missionaries could teach you. After you learn more about the church maybe you will be able to see that we are Christian. Christianity is the religion based on the person and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. We do believe in Christ because we know he is true and that he atoned for our sins. He died on the cross for us and we can be saved through him.
Actually, the name of the Church (nick named Mormon) is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The central focus and worship is Jesus Christ. Often people do not understand that we are Christian. We are. We love the Savior and worship Him.
Diana, I am not sure if you are aware, but the LDS, or “Mormon“ church is properly named the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is Christian in nature, and its adherents do worship Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Thank you
This is the best list of Jesus’s characteristics I have ever found. Thank you for taking the time to assemble it and make it available to those who have been searching.
They have not quoted beyond old and new testaments. Once they do, then run for they might be mormons realy.
I appreciate your definition of ‘Godliness” I am thankful someone finally defined godliness as character. The standard definition is that godliness is “being devoutly religious” which leaves one thirsting for more. Thank you for supplying a good drink of water.
Which of these attributes is Jesus not then? Are any of these less descriptive of Christ IF a “Mormon” typed them?
I like 60 characters of Christ. Very intresting!
I am real bless by this article
please send me more
We shouldn’t argue with one another over who is more correct or noble. Instead of doing that, let’s practice this list. A baby step each day.
We need to seek, study, and embrace all of the character traits of Jesus. Since God created man in his image and his likeness, Jesus came as God in the flesh to demonstrate and teach us the nature of God in who image we were created.
Thank you for this incredible list of attributes and the scripture references!! It is incredible.
Who’s in here are not yet receive Jesus Christ as (he she) personal savior , if you want to be safe of your sin, receive Him now. You must says this prayer… Jesus Christ I know I am a sinner I ask forgiveness and now I want to receive you as my personal saviour and Lord all the rest of my life,Amen.
